Esthero | Never Gonna Let You Go

Feels like its been awhile since my favorite little pink pirate has busted out a new record. Well, it has been seven years since Esthero’s sophomore album, “Wikked Lil’ Grrrls”, was released back in 2005. But it’s not like she’s been resting on the laurels of her 1998 breakthrough, the severely underrated “Breath from Another”. She’s been doing a number of collaborations and getting to know her devout fan base by performing a number of live shows. Fans don’t have to wait any longer, because Esthero posted a new single, “Never Gonna Let You Go”, on YouTube. The song presumably will be on the upcoming release, “Everything Is Expensive”. The single will be available digitally on June 5. The song was worth the wait. “Never Gonna Let You Go” is a clever, piano-based, kinky club-stomper that works as a fun tongue-in-cheek dance jam about an obsessional love, with a crazy-addictive hook and tons of Esthero attitude: “Is there a problem? / Did I hear you right? / You say your handcuffs are a little tight? / What’s wrong now man, you used to love this game? / You should have listened when I told you to treat me right / Now you’ll be lucky if you make it through the night.” So good to hear you, girl.
