Collarbones | Missing

Following on that trend of hybrid-soul like How to Dress Well, The Weeknd, and Frank Ocean, is this synth-soaked love jam, “Missing”, from Collarbones. It’s the debut single from what appears to be a upcoming September sophomore release called “Die Young”. Collarbones is the Australian duo of Marcus Whale and Travis Cook. Granted, this approach is a bit more straight forward then the previously mentioned artists, with the flows and beats moving in and out of house music, electronic and soul. But it’s undeniably smooth and sexy: “I get so close / I can almost feel you / Want to get so close / I could almost, I could almost …” Follow the duo at facebook or listen to some earlier cuts at bandcamp or soundcloud. – David D.
