Micachu and the Shapes | OK

Their Bated Breath favorites and London three-piece Micachu and the Shapes have a new single out, “OK”, off their upcoming July 24 (U.S.) release, “Never” — out via Rough Trade. (It’s out on July 23 in the U.K.) The song is an industrial-clanking, catchy riff, that turns hypnotic through Mica Levi’s alternating chorus, “Are you sure you’re okay? / Couldn’t be better.” It’s wild and experimental, as is usual with the band, but it also has a middle-eastern feel, with a touch of psychedelica. This is a good sign for the quality of the record. “Never” is the follow-up to their 2009 debut LP “Jewellery”. Follow the highly creative Micachu at facebook. The song is posted for free download, courtesy of the label. For a link click here or on the song title below. – David D. Robbins Jr.
