It’s been two years since Swedish songwriter Sarah Assbring released her record “Love Is Not Pop”, under her music project name, El Perro Del Mar. But she’s back with a new single, “What Do You Expect”. It’s a pretty dubstep throwback with spoken-word verses and a dance-club feel. She wrote the song, with the recent UK riots in minds. Here’s what she said about the song, “Around the time of the riots flaring across the UK, I was wrapped up in work on an album which in many ways is about living in a time where there’s little hope, little future and what times like these do to people. I felt I needed to say something about the incidents since I feel they speak volumes not only of one society in specific but about the society and time we live in at large.” The El Perro Del Mar official website says she’s working on a new record, “Pale Fire”, due out next year. — David D.
