Montage Populaire posted a free EP entitled, “Nothing Serious”, along with a some videos at their website. The four tracks are home recordings made in the autumn 2011, and have a bit of the Factory’s gloomy aesthetic. The first song, “Sharpening Knives” (below) is all acceleration, with a post-punk Bauhaus doom. The lead singer’s sonorous and buried voice blends with dark electronics and 80s touch of synth. The songs are about hiding from monsters, betray, and bad love.  — David D. Robbins Jr.
