This week’s feature release at Bleeding Gold Records is a three-track preview of HEHFU’s 10-song LP “Music For My Broken Ears”. The full record will be available on November 21st, and comes in a variety of colors. Each 7-inch will come in a gatefold jacket with the full album on disc. The three tracks burst forth with an energetic fury, like a more upbeat Tokyo Police Club, while vocalist Bradley Clarke can at times sound like Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan. Perhaps the best track, the opener ‘Street Orange Glow”, is a song about love and identity: “Counting the headlights / But you’re not that bright / That Bambi stare / Won’t get you anywhere / If time heals all / And if time takes its toll / Is it worth the wait / To see you back again? … / Need your lipstick kiss / Need your dirty tricks / Forget who I am …” It’s a gorgeous creation.
