Yellow Ostrich’s Alex Schaaf and company posted a link to a free copy of a re-worked song, “‘Til I Disappear”, at the band’s site. This melodic wonder originally appeared on 2010’s “Wild Comfort” record on bandcamp. But now the Schaaf has bolstered the sound with his band, and it’s a beauty. Schaff says the track was slated to be a bonus on the marvelous “The Mistress” album, but in the end didn’t make the cut. At this point most folks have heard “The Mistress”, but I recommend listening to even more of his early music. I still remember when I first heard Schaaf’s tongue-in-cheek eccentricity, “The Morgan Freeman EP”, six wild and bizarre songs with an incredible range of grooves and humor. An explosion of creativity. For an archive of Their Bated Breath posts about Yellow Ostrich click here. Note: Art from artist’s facebook page. — David D. Robbins Jr.
