Mesita (aka James Cooley) premiered a second single, “Out For Blood”, at the music blog Pigeons and Planes. It’s the second song from off his upcoming 2012 release, “The Coyote”. It begins with a quickly-paced acoustic guitar rhythm, set to a gallop, like a train rolling across tracks. It weaves flawlessly into the sound of a nimbly-fingered electric guitar before fading into drums and the opening vocals. The blog posted a quote from Cooley about the record: “It’ll be 15 tracks long or so, and will be out in a few months. The whole thing’s recorded solo with just a couple of condenser mics into Audacity, all tracked in my bedroom. I’ve got a kit stashed and mic’d up in a walk-in closet and it sounds pretty cool. I’m trying to make it really sprawling with a lot of intensity from track to track … I want to make something that matters.” — David D. Robbins Jr.
