It says a lot about a band, that 27 years after a song is created, we still find it touches us. A new project presents eleven versions of one song, The Jesus And Mary Chain’s gorgeous, “Just Like Honey” for a cause. Listen to Keep Shelly In Athens’ ultra-quiet re-working of the song below. Go to bandcamp and listen to 10 more, by groups with sounds as varied as KidCity, Glisk, Oh Minnows, and We Are Enfant Terrible. Be sure to visit the Just Like Honey website which seems to be sponsoring the whole project. Profits from the “Just Like Honey” charity covers compilation will be donated to Breast Cancer Care. A track costs around £1 or $1.50 U.S., but you can give more to support the charity. –– David D. Robbins Jr.
