Dirty Projectors | Gun Has No Trigger

The Dirty Projectors have posted a new track, “Gun Has No Trigger”, via Domino Recordssoundcloud page. As of yet, the album title has yet to hit the internet. The new record is the follow up to the beautiful “Bitte Orca” (2009). The new song features some of the familiar female backing vocals, and David Longstreth singing the lead. It’s a pretty track, but different from the songs on “Bitte Orca”. “Gun Has No Trigger” isn’t as wild, like the inventively layered and shape-shifting thumper, “Useful Chamber”. This track plays it straight for the most part: cooing backing vocals, a steady drum kit, and sprightly bass lift Longstreth’s straining vocals. — David D. Robbins Jr.
