The Brooklyn-based Wilsen have a new video for the song, “Anahita”, a slow simmering and sullen ballad — with a sound akin to the Elena Tonra-led British group Daughter. The song is confessional and intimate, lead-singer Tamsin Wilson’s stunning vocals the equivalent of dawn breaking. She sings “Anahita” with a low-key passion, and no wasted breath. It’s the type of track that pours forth with honesty, despite its opening lines, “This is it, love / Where the shadow meets the light / I can’t speak now / I can’t find an honest sound.” You can follow the band at facebook or visit their official page to stream to stream four songs from off their 9-song 2012 release, “Sirens”. Without a doubt it’s Wilson’s voice that’s the captain of this ship, but the arrangement behind her is just as exquisite in it’s well-scripted restraint. A light repeating guitar line sets the gauzy lovelorn mood, soft drums heighten the ominous feel, all blending with her voice into a beauty both elegant and moonlit.
