The Chromatics have whetted the appetite with this five-minute and 20-second re-edit of “Looking For Love”, a 17-minute song set to be released via Italians Do It Better on a record entitled, “After Dark 2”. This is a sexualized groove that hits all the right spots, with its constant thump and grind, reminiscent of that kinky spaced-out vibe My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult used to do so well. There’s a sense of pleasure and danger blended into its sweet and dark synth work. The music circles around the intense and hypnotic mantra, “I’m still looking, looking for love.” The video has a great vibe too, featuring footage from “The Chanel Pret-A-Porter Printemps-Ete” runway show, taken earlier this month at the The Grand Palais in Paris, France. Video created by Oko Ebombo and Alberto Rossini, with the latter doing the editing. Overall, it’s simple, and fantastic. — David D. Robbins Jr.
