Real Magic | The Trance

Real Magic’s (aka Bay Area artist Drew Englander) “The Trance” is a trip back into the kind of 80s synth-pop I love. The kind of song that’s melodic and still dark, edged with passionate lyricism, a real romantic’s feel, and Englander’s resonate vocals: “Strip me of worth / I’ve come back down / Forget these words / I’m nothing now / But oh, to be loved / And to love somebody too.” Real Magic’s debut record, “Deep Breathing”, will be coming out March 12th via Denver independent, HUG Records. — David D.
