The U.K. has been on a roll lately, and Wolf Alice’s B-side to their forthcoming single “Bros” is just another example. This four-piece band have created a wonderfully sedate but emotive track called “Every Cloud”. It begins with a warped and slowed repeated synth rhythm, only to be matched by the lead singer’s Ellie Rowsell’s elongated singing style (with delays) that seems to glide gracefully over the top of the instrumentation. The latter’s beauty rests in a synth sound that resembles a tone of a fluttering flute. The single is set to be released on May 20th via Chess Club Records. But you can pre-order on the 7-inch on vinyl now at Rough Trade. Follow Wolf Alice at facebook and souncloud. The band is: Rowsell, Joel Amey, Theo Ellis and Joff. — David D. Robbins Jr.
