Girls Names posted a cover of a Brian Eno track, “Third Uncle”, a song off his 1974 record, “Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy)”. The new cover will appear on an upcoming Girls Names’ EP release, “The Next Life”, due out November 4th via Tough Love and Slumberland. It will be available in two formats, a three song 12-inch and as a seven song download on October 28th. As you can see above, the album art mimics David Bowie’s “The Next Day”, while also following the band’s previous release “The New Life”, which mimics the title. The Belfast band stick pretty close to the original version of the “Third Uncle”, a rollicking, punk-styled track, with frenetic pacing and garage band allure. The digital release the Eno track, five remixes and “Visions”, the bonus track from off the band’s most recent release. Follow the band at facebook. –– David D. Robbins Jr.
