“What’s in my purse? / It’s a pinball of Donkey Kong / That doesn’t make sense” are the whacked-out introductory verses to Pink Mountaintops’ latest single, “North Hollywood Microwaves”. It’s the newest song off the band’s upcoming release, “Get Back”, out April 29 via Jagjaguwar. And those lyrics are just the beginning of a wild litany of nonsensical, sex-laden, raunchy verses and rhymes about switchblades, Thomas Dolby, death wishes, babies, Rod Stewart, speed queens, sluts, crack smoking, screwing and an obsessional need for bear cum after men haven’t been able to fill the need. Giant Drag’s Annie Hardy adds her talents to the track, singing the opening and later verses. Follow the band at facebook. — David D. Robbins Jr.
