Colours | You Were Mine

I don’t know much about this pretty track, but it’s labeled “You Were Mine” by Colours on the digital label BEKO’s soundcloud page. The song also features the description “excerpt from the upcoming beko 401 oz doit better in collaboration with peking tapes”. (Looks like BEKO and Peking are joining forces on this record release — with a cassette available on June 19th as well as a digital format.) “You Were Mine” will take you back to the some of those drifting American 60s tracks, with softly reverberating guitar and lilting backing vocals. But there’s also a kind of Asiatic lining to the sound too. It’s not all daydreaming and dandelions though, with some segments of scuzzed-up guitar. There a video for the song you can watch on YouTube by clicking here. You can follow BEKO and its releases at facebook.  — David D. Robbins Jr.

  1. Like it a lot! Reminds me a bit of the material on Minks – Tides End (Captured Tracks) on of my favorite albums of 2013. This has a little more grit tho, both in the vocals and the overall sound. Thanks, David!
