This new Bob Moses track, “Grace”, opens with a sweet bass groove, slowly adding other musical instruments before he begins the opening vocals. The vocals are half spoken, half-sung and have a hypnotic feel, made soulful by the inclusion of a rhythm guitar and steadily increasing beat. It’s really a kind of hybrid track, with some club beat elements, electronic, R&B — the kind of song you’ll most likely hear played by Gilles Peterson on his BBC Radio6 show. “Why would you say I am the one you want? / Oh, what game you playin’? / How could you say I’m not the one you need? … / See the toll it’s takin’.” “Grace” is the second shared track from off Bob Moses’ upcoming 12-inch release, “First To Cry”, out via Domino Records.
