The Radio Dept. | Death to Fascism

Sweden’s The Radio Dept. is streaming a new track called ‘Death to Fascism”, which opens with two distorted phrases set to electronic dance. The phrases are seemingly incomprehensible, but still sound like words, and pleasing to the ear. But the single album art does spell out the phonetics as “Smrt fashizmu sloboda narod”, which in Slovenian translates loosely to “Death fashizmu / Sloboda nation.” In other words, the band are repeating death to fascism and the concept of a free settlement. That might sound a bit heavy, but the song is pretty and takes an even lighter musical turn with the introduction of a upbeat synth and guitar. You can download the track at soundcloud courtesy of the band’s label, Labrador Records.  — David D. Robbins Jr.
