Brisbane’s Olivia McCarthy (aka Joy.) is streaming a new electronic track called, “Weather”, about love as a force of nature: “I know that I’m the only one that you want to hold.” This is her follow up single to “Stone”, a song she streamed three months ago. While the latter was a beautiful and breathy low-key love song, meant for dimmed lights and candles –“Weather” is about the darker, more steamy, cynical side to love. The song begins with minimalist synthesizer, then a light drum beat, piano, and the one-line repeated chorus, “You took yourself away …” building into swirling, dusky-textured electronics. It’s wonderful. “Weather” is the third release from her upcoming debut EP Stone. You can follow Joy. at facebook and twitter. Note: All lyrics are unofficial. — David D. Robbins Jr.
