TROUBLE IN THE WOODS: I’d never heard of this Carbondale/Springfield, Illinois band until a few minute ago — after watching this tripped out video featuring a raging fire, a glowing jellyfish thingy with tentacles, ghostly visions and a headless whittler. (I kid you not.) Yeah, it’s weird and creepy — but oh, so good. By the way, the song is pretty wicked too. If you like the Velvet Underground’s “Sister Ray” and have enjoyed the occasional acid trip, the Young Loves’ “Rotten Fruit” might be the song and video for you. Video was directed by Chris LaGarce. The band is made up of Arlin Peebles (vocals,guitar), Kevin Ohlau (drums), and Nate Doyle (guitar). — David D. Robbins Jr.
