THE CONCRETES REMIX | NIVA

A REMIX: Swedish artist Christian Niva (aka NIVA and formerly The Quietboy) is like the King Midas of dance tracks. Everything he touches seems to turn to gold, with his sunny grooves that make you want to hit the club or head to the beach. NIVA just sent me a remix of a song, “All Day”, written by fellow Swedes, The Concretes, off their new record, “WYWH”. It’s a song about staying in bed all day with the one you love. The original has a sort of disco-jumping indie-pop vibe, with squeaky synth and flute. NIVA’s remix infuses “All Day” with a staccato of vocal blips, building it into a spacey dance track, made more for an all-night party than a day spent under the sheets. It’s a pretty, elegant re-imagining. Read more about NIVA in a Their Bated Breath archived post. Or read an very honest, candid interview we did with NIVA earlier this year.  — David D. Robbins Jr.
