FALL IN CHICAGO | Ra Cailum

VIDEO: I just love this spacey, atmospheric track from Ra Cailum — so much so — I decided to piece together a quick video this morning using the very basic Movie Maker. Not the greatest software, and I apologize to Ra (aka Anthony Engelhardt) in advance, seeing as this is the first time I’ve ever done this. Anyway, you can listen to his very cool, new 10-track album, “Walkabout”, at his bandcamp page. You can also pre-order the cassette version via Wonder Bread Tapes by clicking here. This video montage for “Fall In Chicago” uses video clips from “Andy Warhol Eats A Hamburger”, “Last Year at Marienbad” by Alain Resnais, atomic bomb footage, Stan Brakhage’s “The Wonder Ring” and “Preludes”, TV static, and a clip from “2 or 3 Things I Know About Her” by Jean-Luc Godard. I ended up roughing-up, fuzzing-out and adding a little graininess to this little pastiche. Enjoy. — David D. Robbins Jr.
