This electronic-pop track, “Katie”, is from Japan’s Paper Bear. It’s their follow-up to a three-song EP simply titled “#2” and a six-track record called “first”. “Katie” is a shimmering, glitchy, layered piece of synth work, with a bunch of rhythmic variations, circling the clever phrase, “You love / you / you love / you” — which works in one of two ways depending upon where you put the pauses in the verse.
