Moon Tides | As Loud As the Sun

Colorado’s Moon Tides (aka Lexa and Dylan) posted their new record, “As Loud As the Sun”, a collection of all the song they’ve made to date, at bandcamp for streaming or free download. For a taste of what to expect, listen to the sexy “No Time”, with it’s sparse guitar decay, vibrating hum, and subtle percussion. It’s like the low murmur of lovers. However, it’s not all delicacy. “1996”, a track posted here at Their Bated Breath, mixes scuzzy guitar, backing vocal ‘ooohs’, a tick like a metronome, and a serious punk aesthetic. It’s sophisticated in the way it remains both DIY and polished. When Lexa and Dylan come together vocally on “Skating”, it’s a harmony so pretty it can only be matched by the colorfully decorative keyboard notes scattered amid the rough guitar strums. It’s a fantastic track. Don’t waste any time. Click on over to bandcamp and play the heck out of this record. You can follow the band at facebook. — David D. Robbins Jr.
