I don’t post about a whole lot of deep house remixes, or remixes in general. But every time I think the genre’s sound is getting a little tired I visit Maya Jane Coles. This time she’s posted an official remix, created by Brazilian Joyce Muniz, of her “Comfort” track, “Burning Bright”, featuring the vocals of Kim Ann Foxman. It’s got a heavy groove, that really kicks into gear at the 1:48 mark, with that humming vocal sample playing like on long note. Feels great, when the skittering drum crosses it, followed by those aqua-pings at 2:35. It’s arranged well, never losing step, which is what good house needs to do.
