Tennis | Mean Streets

Tennis will be following up its successful 2012 release, “Young and Old”, with a new five-song EP called “Small Sound”. There’s a new track to stream called “Mean Streets” — a gorgeous, soulful, piano-pop song that pushes Alaina Moore’s sultry voice out front, with a chorus of syrupy-sweet backing vocals going all gooey over the top of a waltzing rhythm and an airy Patrick Riley guitar solo. The lyrics are just as light, fun, and pretty: “Born and raised on the mean streets / That’s where she learned how to keep the beats / Some say that girl’s got something / I heard her name, like a million times.” The EP is out November 5th and will be released on the husband-wife duo’s new label, Communion. — David D. Robbins Jr.
