George Fierro teams up with a Their Bated Breath favorite, Bijou Winters (vocals), on this new track, “They Found Her In the Forest”. It’s the perfect melding of talents. Bijou’s understated and narcotic vocals fall into the odd scrapes, reverb, and atmospherics of Fierro. This is music at it’s finest, blending pretty and melodic sounds with a strange sense of aesthetic beauty. Percussive clanks and spacey guitar combine with warped distortion, tinging electronics and a scattering of sampled sounds. “They Found Her In the Forest” is one of those songs people describe as “not for everyone”. Perhaps, but it should be. The song journeys into places that sound both distant and intimate, cool and yet warmly familiar. It’s subconscious and beautiful. One of my favorite tracks of the year.
